We arrived on a Friday and I asked if we wanted to could we extend our stay – without any extra information or smile I was told No it was fully booked. But I wasn’t filled with the warm feeling normally received from hospitality staff. The hotel building is kind of like a maze – we were told when we got out of the lift we could go left or right it was about equidistant and we walked for a few minutes around a few corners to find our room. The room was fine.
Although on departure I noticed a cloth handkerchief under the curtain so housekeeping obviously missed that when cleaning before we arrived. But overall I have to say it was comparable with other hotel rooms. We were given an internet code but it didn’t work. I didn’t want to bother the receptionist so I just left it.
The tea ad scones was served in the bar which had some cobwebs overhead and the teapot leaked but was good strong Irish tea: The weather was miserable that evening as we went down for dinner. Seemed strange to me as if she hadn’t approached us we wouldn’t have asked and just left therefore losing them potential business. The food was grand – nothing to write home about, nothing to complain about. But we were in the alcove on the right and the staff had to push between my boyfriends chair and the woman behind him each time they had to squeeze past.
The staff were friendly but seemed very busy.
